What a wonderful post!


Yes, wonderful, a conversion! How old do you think she was? Was she our mothers, the mother from the century of a depression sandwiched between the great wars, in a country of enormous isolation, resilient and proud, who made a sugar and soap poultice to nurse a child's cut foot, indeed no humbug.


I'm often attracted to practical people (my wife, e.g.); opposites attract, I think. I find some mystery about them that they wouldn't claim for themselves.


This is indeed a wonderful post. I'd love to have someone like that close by to help with things.
