My last post (which still welcomes your comments) wondered about the silver-white color of New Caledonia's dying bracken ferns. Several other ferns there also die silver-white, though I saw none with bracken's elaborate four-color progression. Pictures say it all (click to enlarge).

Very interesting observations, Jarrett.
You make the seemingly mundane stand out. We all need reminding of the beauty around us, always, even in the least pre-possessing of moments, such as death.
