After that devastation, I understand why your friends and you see red.


There are lots of reasons I want to go to Australia - someday - but seeing eucalypts in their real home has to be high on the list.

Living in fire country is very stressful. But as we move more and more houses out to the foothills, here, and plonk people down in a place whose natural rhythms include and even depend on fire, and attempt to control it, it's catastrophic when it finally (and almost always inevitably comes).
